Configuring Loyalty WhatsApp Commands

Learn how to configure WhatsApp commands for loyalty automation in RateUp.

The Loyalty WhatsApp Command Configuration allows businesses to automate loyalty interactions through WhatsApp.

Customers can send predefined keywords to trigger loyalty actions such as:

  • Customer registration
  • Point balance requests
  • Reward information
  • Referral actions
  • Loyalty updates

Administrators can configure how these commands behave and what response customers receive.


Open Command Configuration

To configure loyalty WhatsApp commands:

  1. Open Loyalty from the sidebar
  2. Click Commands
  3. Create a new command or edit an existing command

The Loyalty WhatsApp Command Configuration modal will open.

Configure Service Type

The Service Type determines which loyalty action the command will trigger.

Available Service Types

Examples include:

  • Customer Registration
  • Point Information
  • Rewards List
  • Referral Program
  • Customer Deregistration

Select the appropriate service before configuring the response.


Configure Request Message

The Request Message is the keyword or phrase customers send through WhatsApp.

Example

Join loyalty

When a customer sends this message, the configured loyalty automation will execute automatically.

Keep request messages simple and easy for customers to remember.


Select Response Type

The Response Type controls how the customer receives the reply.

Available Response Types

  • Text – Sends a plain text response
  • Template – Sends a WhatsApp template message

Configure Text Response

When Text is selected:

  1. Enter the response message
  2. Add dynamic placeholders if required
  3. Review the live preview

Dynamic Variables

Dynamic placeholders can be inserted inside the message.

Example:

{{1}}

The system automatically replaces placeholders with customer data.

Example Usage

Hi {{1}}, thank you for registering for our Loyalty Program!
Text Response Configuration

Configure Template Response

When Template is selected:

  1. Choose a WhatsApp template
  2. Review the available variables
  3. Verify the preview before saving

Example Templates

Available templates may include:

  • loyalty_register_success
  • loyalty_referee_template
  • loyalty_referrer_template
  • notification_tier_upgrade
  • notification_points_adjustment

Live Preview

The Live Preview section displays how the final WhatsApp message will appear to customers.

This helps administrators:

  • Validate formatting
  • Verify placeholders
  • Review customer-facing output
  • Prevent messaging errors

Sample variables are shown below the preview section.


Save Command Configuration

After configuring the command:

  1. Review the request message
  2. Verify the response type
  3. Check the live preview
  4. Click Save

The command will then become active for customer WhatsApp interactions.


Important Notes

  • Commands are triggered only when customers send the exact configured message
  • Template responses require approved WhatsApp templates
  • Dynamic variables are populated automatically during execution
  • Preview data uses sample customer information for testing
