Message Logs
Every individual message, searchable, filterable and exportable.
Where Message Analytics gives you the totals, Message Logs gives you the individual messages behind them.
This is the view you open when someone says "the customer says they never got it".
The Columns
| Column | Contains |
|---|---|
| Timestamp | When the message was sent |
| Phone | The recipient |
| Message | The content |
| Type | What kind of message it was |
| Source | Campaign, template, external API |
| Status | Sent, delivered, read or failed |
Finding a Message
| Tool | Use |
|---|---|
| Search | Search by phone number or message content |
| Status filter | Narrow to failures, or to read messages |
| Source filter | Isolate campaign sends from conversation messages |
| Date range | Restrict to the period in question |
The fastest route for a delivery complaint: search the phone number, set status to Failed, and look at the timestamp.
Exporting
Export produces the filtered log as a file.
Message logs contain customer phone numbers and message content. Treat an export as personal data — do not email it around, and delete it when you are done with it.
Common Investigations
| Question | How |
|---|---|
| "Did this customer get our message?" | Search their number, check status |
| "Why did this campaign underperform?" | Filter source = Campaign, status = Failed |
| "Are our templates being read?" | Filter source = Template, compare delivered vs read |
| "What did our API send last night?" | Filter source = External API, set the date range |
