Rewards

Point rewards, coupons, free gifts and the referral programme — what points are actually worth.

Rewards are what customers spend points on. Without attractive rewards, points are just a number that goes up.

Pricing Rewards

The point cost is where a programme succeeds or fails.

ProblemSymptomFix
Priced too highPoints issued far exceeds points redeemedLower the cost, or add a cheap entry reward
Priced too lowRedemptions constant, margin sufferingRaise the cost, or reduce the earning rate
Nothing reachable earlyNew members drop outAdd one small reward reachable in a visit or two

Always have one cheap, attainable reward. The first redemption is what converts a sign-up into a member — after that, saving for something bigger feels worth it.

Check Top Redeemed Rewards on the dashboard to see what people actually choose, and retire what nobody takes.

Referral Programme

The Referral Program — spelled that way in the app — rewards members for bringing in new customers.

Every member has a referral code and a referral link, both copyable from their record in Customers.

Configure the referral rewards — what the referrer gets, and what the new member gets.

Set the referral notification template so both sides are told.

Make sure members know their code exists — most never look for it unless told.

Reward both sides. A referral bonus that only pays the referrer feels like being used; one that gives the friend something too is an easy thing to send.

Managing Rewards

Rewards can be set Active or Inactive. Deactivating is better than deleting for a seasonal reward you will bring back.
