Settings
Program name, currencies, point expiry, approvals, birthday reminders and the danger zone.
Loyalty Settings holds the programme-wide configuration — the decisions that apply to every member.
Basic Settings
| Setting | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Program Name | What customers see the programme called. Required |
| Points Currency | What you call your points — Stars, Coins, Points. Required |
| Money Currency | The currency spend is measured in. Required |
| Default Country | Default for phone numbers at registration. Required |
| Program Status | Program Active enables or disables the whole programme |
Name your points something of your own. "You have 340 Beans" is memorable in a way "340 points" never is — and it makes the programme feel like yours rather than software.
Points Expiration
| Setting | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Enable Expiration | Turns expiry on |
| Expiration Period | How long points last before expiring. Required when expiry is on |
Expiry limits your liability and creates urgency. It also, done badly, destroys goodwill.
If you enable expiry, enable the reminder notifications at the same time. Expiring points silently is the most damaging thing a loyalty programme can do to a customer who was saving.
Give people a realistic window. A period shorter than a typical purchase cycle means points expire before anyone could reasonably spend them.
Approvals
Auto-approve Adjustments decides whether staff adjustments take effect immediately or wait for review in Approvals.
Leave it off unless your team is small and trusted.
Birthday Reminders
Enable Birthday Reminders sends a message on each member's birthday. Pair it with a Birthday Gift reward so the message arrives with something attached.
Requires a date of birth on the member record — collect it during registration.
Notifications
The notification switches live here too — see Notifications for what each one does and how often to send.
Danger Zone
Two irreversible actions.
Reset Points
Sets every member's balance to zero.
This wipes points your customers earned and expect to spend. There is almost no situation where this is the right answer to a live programme — export transactions first if you proceed.
Delete Program
Removes the loyalty programme and all its data — members, balances, transactions and rewards. Remove all data does exactly what it says.
Permanent and irreversible. Export member and transaction data before doing this.
